The World Youth City is finalizing the WYF 2024 venues and preparing to welcome visitors from around the world. On March 1, 20,000 participants from more than 180 countries will gather at the site.

There World Youth Festival is exactly one month away. The major international event will be hosted by the Sirius Federal Territory and Sochi, where active preparations for the WYF 2024 are currently underway.

On January 27, the Memory Lane, one of the five routes of the World Youth Festival Regional Program, was presented to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege. More than 500 foreign guests will follow the route dedicated to World War II. The route includes hero cities and cities of military glory: St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Smolensk, Tula, Kursk, and Belgorod.

On Volunteer Day, December 5, a festive event for volunteers of the World Youth Festival was held in the Youth House at the site of the Russia International Exhibition and Forum as part of the #MYVMESTE International Forum of Civic Participation. 80 days before the start of the Festival Volunteer Corps solemnly concluded the volunteer selection campaign for the largest international event.

The World Youth Festival application campaign has closed. Registration of applicants opened in Nizhny Novgorod on Youth Day, June 24, and continued until December 1, 2023.

The World Youth Festival and its upcoming scientific events were presented at the 3rd Congress of Young Scientists.

On July 18th, the results of the All-Russian competitive selection of the World Youth Festival centers for volunteer engagement and training were announced during the competition commission's session. 474 organizations from 86 regions, including the Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, Zaporozhye Region, and Kherson Region, participated in the application process.

On 24 June, as part of the Youth Day in Nizhny Novgorod, the start of applications for participation in the World Youth Festival were launched.Daria Semenova, a student at RUDN University, was the one to submit the very first application to participate in the Festival.

The World Youth Festival will be held in Russia in February-March 2024, as it follows from the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
