1000 teenagers took part in the World Youth Festival: 500 children from Russia and 500 foreign children. The World Youth City has prepared a special program for them, in which Artek employees also take part. The children have already taken part in interesting activities.

A conversation club “I want to speak Russian” was held for foreign children. Children from different countries of the world who are interested in the Russian language were able to learn a few words and get acquainted with the Russian alphabet in an unusual format: the teachers introduced the participants to the Artek alphabet, in which each letter stands for a word associated with the Land of Childhood.

“I am very glad that I am participating in the Festival and attending such an interesting lesson. I realized that I could learn to speak Russian. I have a dream to go to study at a Russian university. I love this country very much,” noted Azka Zulfansa from Indonesia.

The children had a fun time with the teachers and learned a lot about Artek. All the guys want to go to the Land of Childhood for a season.

“The lesson was absolutely fantastic. We learned the Russian alphabet and other words. In the future I would like to visit Artek. After this lesson, I will learn Russian using an online lesson from Artek teachers, - said Adiba Davlatboeva from Uzbekistan.

An artball training session was held for the sporty young participants of the WYF. Specialists from the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism told the children about this game, its history, explained the rules and played several games.

“Today I tried playing artball for the first time. I got very cool emotions and played with guys from different countries. I am very glad that I got acquainted with the Artek game, I hope that next time I will play it in Artek, - noted Anastasia Lim from Uzbekistan.

In addition, in the City of World Youth, young participants played the “Reserve Quiz”. Having divided into teams, the guys answered questions related to nature reserves, flora, and fauna. And everyone at the workshop was able to paint nesting dolls in their own special style. Many Artek residents took part in the Festival. The guys were very happy to meet Artek employees and receive Artek gifts at the WYF.

“I’ve been to Artek twice. I was very happy that the Artek team was taking part in the World Youth Festival. I really liked the unusual format of the events. We also managed to communicate with children from other countries who were also on shift at Artek,  - said Anastasia Tretyakova from Kyrgyzstan.

“Artek” has been my dream for five years. For a long time I didn’t understand how to get there, and last year everything worked out. I became a participant in the Diplomatic Mission: Children of the World program. I have been following the news about WYF for a long time and when I saw that Artek would be here, I was very happy. I’m glad that I can feel the Artek atmosphere again,” – noted Ksenia Zayats from the Republic of Belarus.

The World Youth Festival is taking place at the Sirius Federal Territory from March 1 to 7, 2024, as per the decree issued by Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed at fostering international youth cooperation.

The Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) is the organizer of the World Youth Festival, with the Directorate of the World Youth Festival serving as the operator for WYF-2024.
