On February 22, volunteers begin arriving in the Sirius Federal Territory to begin preparations for the World Youth Festival. Volunteer arrivals will continue through February 26.

More than 600 volunteers from the Krasnodar Territory were the first to arrive, followed by specialists from the Far Eastern and Siberian Federal Districts who will go to the World Youth City. Prior to the start of the largest international youth event, a team of volunteers will receive uniform and highly specialized training directly at the WYF 2024 venues.

"Today we welcome the first volunteers of the World Youth Festival to the Sirius Federal Territory. This event is an important step toward a large-scale global event that will bring together young people from around the world. Volunteers are not just assistants. They are true ambassadors of the Festival, creating an atmosphere of warmth and Russian hospitality. Volunteers are 'people's diplomats' who aim to build bridges of friendship with foreign countries and participants, organize a common useful program, and build intercultural communication," said Larisa Sulima, Deputy Director General for Regional Cooperation of the World Youth Festival Directorate.

She noted that the Festival will be held at a high organizational level and will leave an unforgettable impression on all participants and guests of the WYF 2024 thanks to the knowledge, experience, energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism of the volunteers.

Volunteers will help in 15 functional areas. They will welcome Festival guests, accompany delegations of Russian and foreign participants, provide medical assistance, and ensure that all Festival services work. On February 29, a solemn ceremony will be held to mark the beginning of the work of the WYF 2024 Volunteer Corps.

From February 22 to March 8, the volunteers will also participate in a cultural and recreational program at their accommodation sites. Volunteers are invited to participate in creative events, sports competitions, a cultural program, and more.
