WYF 2024 Participants to Try Their Hand at Running Their Own District

The World Youth Festival will feature the Industry metagame. Players are invited to develop their own District and take on leadership roles in management. The Alabuga Special Economic Zone became a partner of the event.

WYF 2024 participants will join teams and manage Districts, each with its own history, ideology, and visual identity. Festival guests will be able to try out one of the roles, including the head of the district, the minister for the development of new venues, or a representative of the media or other structures.

"The game encourages young people to get acquainted with the development of industry and education in Russia. Participants will be able to take leadership roles in their Districts, develop their own strategy, create an economy, develop industry, consider logistics, and utilize new technologies. Those who want to create and implement their own projects and are interested in innovative approaches to management and training will find the game particularly interesting," said Alexander Tarasov, metagame author.

As the author notes, the game models a real state. The development of the District depends on the players' ability to plan and manage resources. Participants will need to consider the needs of residents, remain financially sustainable, and ensure the environmental safety of their city. At the same time, players will face a variety of challenges, including an economic recession, environmental crises or natural disasters.

The Industry metagame will teach WYF 2024 participants how to think strategically, manage resources, and make decisions in difficult situations.

Overview:

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024 according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event.

The World Youth Festival is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and operated by the World Youth Festival Directorate.
