WYF 2024 Participants to Dive into Media World

Everyone will have a chance to have a go at the media industry during the World Youth Festival. As part of the Media Profi: Publish, Communicate, Promote business game, WYF 2024 participants will create and promote their own project. The partner of the event is St. Petersburg University.

"The business game will help participants navigate current professional career paths related to employment in the field of digital media communications. At every stage of the game, participants will learn the hard and soft skills involved in creating, distributing, producing and promoting content on digital channels," said Aleksandra Litvinova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Digital Media Communications at the St. Petersburg University School of Journalism & Mass Communication.

Festival guests will be divided into teams. They will become media employees. Everyone will find something interesting to do. Participants can try themselves as journalists, content writers, directors, producers or PR managers.

Experts from the St. Petersburg University School of Journalism & Mass Communication will talk about how to create content, attract an audience and promote a project on digital platforms. They will also share the secrets of working in the media.

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024 according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event.

The World Youth Festival is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and operated by the World Youth Festival Directorate.
