We Believe in Russia — Folk Mystery Concert to Teach WYF 2024 Participants about Strength of Russian People's Spirit

26 January 2024, 17:35

The World Youth Festival will host the We Believe in Russia folk mystery by the Russian Song Theater. WYF 2024 participants and guests will see a musical performance based on authentic documents and stories of struggle and loss, love and victory.

"The program evokes a sense of pride for the people who love and are proud of their country. It protects the humiliated, fights evil and violence, and upholds peace and harmony. This mystery is for young people and about young people, and it is also about love, which saves, inspires and gives strength. Once you have viewed it, you will find answers to the frequently asked questions — What is the Russian soul and character? This is a way of getting to know Russia, its history and present," said Liubov Grechishnikova, Director of the We Believe in Russia Folk Mystery and Honored Artist of Russia.

The organizers say it is no coincidence that the concert is called a folk mystery. The performance resembles a sacred ceremony in which the main characters are ordinary people whose lives are filled with joy and sorrow, love and loss. The concert program will tell about the willpower and national character of the Russian people and will reflect the true history of the people.

People's and Honored Artists of Russia, including Nadezhda Babkina, Sergey Nikonenko, Vyacheslav Manucharov, and Vladislav Malenko, will perform for the WYF 2024 participants and guests. The concert program will bring together on one stage the Russian Song Ensemble, the Russian Seasons Dance Ensemble, the Living Planet Ballet, the After 11 Folk Rock Band and students of the Heritage Children's Theatrical and Folklore Studio.

"The folk mystery is going to surprise and delight both Russian and foreign participants. I am sure it will show the audience the importance of unity of all nationalities and the desire to preserve peace and interest in the history of our large multinational country," said Nadezhda Babkina, People's Artist of Russia.

The We Believe in Russia project is implemented by the Folk Singing Culture Charitable Foundation with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
