The author of the picture was the famous athlete, three-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming, head of the water theater Maria Kiseleva. Scriptwriter - Mikhail Palatnik, director: Vitaly Minorsky. According to Maria Kiseleva, the film is based on the 25-year history of victories of Russian synchronized swimmers at world competitions. This work was unique and the first such creative experiment. The film combined several genres and trends; it was created by professionals in the field of sports, cinema and television.

The main character of the film was the coach of the synchronized swimming team, Honored Coach of Russia Tatyana Pokrovskaya. The actors in the film are Olympic champions in synchronized swimming and world champions - Svetlana Romashina, Svetlana Kolesnichenko, Alla Shishkina, Maria Shurochkina, Vlada Chigireva, Elena Prokofieva, Marina Golyadkina, Varvara Subbotina, Darina Valitova, Maya Doroshko, Alexander Maltsev.

The film also uses chronicles from training and competitions of the Russian national team, as well as underwater footage.

“Our task was to show at the Festival, to talk about the work of the strongest synchronized swimmers in the world, about synchronized swimming, about champions, about the team that has been winning all international competitions for 25 years under the leadership of Tatyana Nikolaevna Pokrovskaya. And we really wanted to show here the real live performance of our synchronized swimmers,” said Maria Kiseleva.

She added that the goal of the project’s creators was to recreate the masterpieces of Russian painting. According to her, this has never happened anywhere and never. At the same time, the authors of the project were inspired by Russian classical music and Russian ballet.

“How could we ignore the ballet? Ballet "Swan Lake Underwater". Well, I think it's just a dream. Not even such a story can be born in all heads. What about folk history and folk dances? Well, this is also our culture and our history, without which we cannot move forward anywhere. We definitely need to talk about it, we definitely need to show it. And when this is combined with the strongest Russian classics in the world, Russian masterpieces, such a story is born that you saw today,” said Maria Kiseleva.

She noted that the team was not afraid of the difficulties in creating the picture. The team was looking for ways and opportunities to realize their plans. In the process of making the film, everyone was doing their job - the screenwriter, director, cameraman, synchronized swimmers.

“The art that we showed today, of course, is subject to only the strongest,” added Maria Kiseleva.

At the same time, she clarified that work is already underway on the creation of further projects, which, among other things, will be based on what originated in the first film.

“And we are happy that such development here can be very multifaceted,” summed up the author of the picture.
