13 February 2024, 13:25

A multimedia exhibition of the National Knowledge.Russia Photo Contest will be opened at the World Youth Festival. It will be a part of the Festival educational program, prepared by the Russian Knowledge Society and supported by the general partner of the photo contest, TASS News Agency.

The Festival participants will see 28 photos selected from among the winners of the National Knowledge.Russia Photo Contest. Augmented Reality (AR) will be used to present the works.

The main idea of the exhibition is to introduce young people from all over the world to Russia's current achievements in science, sports and art through photos. The project will also provide an opportunity for authors from the Russian regions to make themselves known in the international arena.

The exhibition will feature photos by professionals and amateurs from 10 regions: Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Donetsk People's Republic, Republic of Tatarstan, Republic of Crimea, Primorsky Territory, and Murmansk, Penza, Saratov and Smolensk Regions. Thus, the Festival participants will see the natural resources of Arkhyz, the village of Teriberki, Altai and the Zabaykalsky Territory, as well as legendary architectural solutions, including the Russian Bridge in Vladivostok, The Heart of Chechnya Mosque, Lakhta Center and other achievements of our country in various fields.

The exhibition will consist of 7 stands, each containing 4 photos and a QR code that will allow viewers to see photos that have been "brought to life" using AR. The photos will be complemented with visualization effects, interesting facts and audio accompaniment. All of this will allow the guests to feel the atmosphere of the events that are depicted. Thus, the WYF 2024 participants from all over the world will watch rocket launches from the Vostochny Cosmodrome or the Arktika nuclear-powered icebreaker.

More than 13,000 people applied to take part in the National Knowledge.Russia Photo Contest in 2023. The best works included 50 photos. 28 of them will be presented at the Festival.

Overview:

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024 according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event.

The World Youth Festival is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and operated by the World Youth Festival Directorate.

The Russian Knowledge Society traces its history back to the Soviet public organization founded in 1947 on the initiative of representatives of the Soviet intelligentsia as the All-Union Society for the Dissemination of Political and Scientific Knowledge (since 1963 — the All-Union Knowledge Society, since 1991— the Knowledge of Russia Society). Members of the Society were engaged in popularizing science and lecturing on the achievements of the Soviet economy and industry. In 2016, Knowledge of Russia was transformed into the Russian Knowledge Society. On April 21, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the need to restart the Russian Knowledge Society on a modern digital platform in his address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

More information about the activities of the Russian Knowledge Society is available on the project website and its VKontakte and Telegram pages.
