Over 200 Residents of New Russian Regions to Become World Youth Festival Volunteers

The World Youth Festival Volunteer Recruitment and Training Center at the Youth Resource Center of the Zaporizhzhia Region was opened in Melitopol. The opening ceremony was attended by Aleksei Lysov, Deputy Chairman of the Government for Social Development of the Zaporizhzhia Region, Anton Titskii, Minister of Youth Policy of the Zaporizhzhia Region, and Daria Vosmukhina, Director of the Volunteer Recruitment and Training Center of the Zaporizhzhia Region.

The Volunteer Recruitment and Training Center in Melitopol will train 228 volunteers from the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions for the World Youth Festival.

«We really do have a developed youth policy. Despite the fact that we have only recently established specialized institutions and organizations, our young people are already known throughout the country. I am convinced that the youth specialists in the Zaporizhzhia Region will be able to effectively fulfill all the tasks assigned to them, and we will provide them with comprehensive support», said Aleksei Lysov, Deputy Chairman of the Government for Social Development in the Zaporizhzhia Region, at the opening ceremony.

The Center will be responsible for recruiting and training volunteers from all the new regions of Russia. The volunteers will have a responsible and interesting task ahead of them - welcoming the participants of the international event at the airports and creating a hospitable atmosphere in Moscow and at all the Festival venues in Sirius. Taking part in the largest international event is a special honor and an important experience for young people from the new regions, noted Daria Vosmukhina, Director of the Volunteer Recruitment and Training Center in the Zaporizhzhia Region.

«I believe this is one of the best evaluations of our work. The opening of the center in the region shows that youth policy in the Zaporizhzhia Region is not only developing, but is also competitive with youth policy in other regions of the country», added Anton Titskii, Minister of Youth Policy of the Zaporizhzhia Region.

The training of the WYF 2024 volunteer program trainers has also started. Specialists from the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions were trained together with trainers from the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts as part of the District Volunteer Forum in Pyatigorsk. They will train volunteers selected in the regions until the end of January 2024. A team of 160 trainers will train volunteers from all over Russia. A training seminar for recruiters who will select volunteers for the World Youth Festival will also take place in September.

27 World Youth Festival Volunteer Recruitment and Training Centers were selected in each federal district based on the results of the All-Russian competition. To date, 11 centers have been opened in the Far Eastern, Siberian, Ural, Central, Volga and North Caucasus Federal Districts.

Overview:

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024, according to the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory on March 1-7, 2024. The regional program of the World Youth Festival will take place on March 10-17, 2024. The participants will visit 30 cities of Russia.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event. Registration is open until December 1 at fest2024.com.

5,000 volunteers from all regions of Russia, including about 250 residents of the LPR, DPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions will be involved in the organization and delivery of the Festival. Registration of volunteers is open on the ДОБРО.РФ platform until December 1, 2023.
