Top Racing Drivers from 15 Countries to Take Part in a Phygital Race at WYF 2024

On March 2 and 3, 2024, the G-Drive Phygital Races will take place at the World Youth Festival. They will be held on the track of the Sochi Autodrom. The event is part of the Games of the Future.

The phygital races will be held in a mixed relay format. Racing drivers will not only have to race on a real track, but also in a virtual racing simulator. 14 teams will compete to win. On the first day of the WYF 2024, the athletes will qualify. On the second day, the winner will be determined.

28 pilots from 15 countries of the world will take part in the tournament. Roman Rusinov, multiple winner of international races, Aleksandr Smolyar and Mikhail Belov, former competitors in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, Irina Sidorkova, Russian champion in circuit racing, Luis Díaz from Mexico, winner of the American Le Mans Series, Roberto Merhi from Spain, former competitor in Formula 1 and Formula E, and other experienced racing drivers will demonstrate their skills.

Media admission to G-Drive Phygital Races at the Sochi Autodrom will take place in accordance with Games of the Future accreditation. You can apply for accreditation until February 9, 2024, on the official website of the event at https://gofuture.games/content/press-center

 

Overview:

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024 according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event.

The World Youth Festival is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and operated by the World Youth Festival Directorate.

The Games of the Future is an international multi-sport tournament in the phygital concept. It is a sports show of a new format that will combine competitions in physical and digital dimensions. VK Play is the technology partner for the Games of the Future.

The inaugural Games of the Future to be held in Kazan from February 21 to March 3, 2024, will feature more than 260 experienced teams and more than 2,000 athletes from different countries competing in 21 innovative disciplines (16 in the main program and 5 in the expanded program). The Games of the Future include five tournament clusters, challenges. They are the Sport Challenge, the Tactical Challenge, the Battle Challenge, the Speedrun Challenge, and the Technical Challenge.
