Finalists of the Tchaikovsky Competition received invitations to the World Youth Festival

The finalists of the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition were awarded certificates for participation in the World Youth Festival, which will be held in Sochi (the Sirius Federal Territory) on March 1-7, 2024.

"We are presenting certificates today and waiting for everyone very soon in Sochi at the World Youth Festival. We want to continue to meet together and hope it will be very soon, in March," said Olga Lyubimova, the Minister of Culture of Russia, on Friday, June 30th.

She thanked the jurors and especially noted the participants, for whom "Tchaikovsky's name is more important than the difficulty of going to the competition".

"To all our young participants, for whom the name of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is more important than all the difficulties they had to face before arriving in Moscow and in St. Petersburg," Lyubimova thanked.

The International Tchaikovsky Competition is the largest event in the world of classical music and is held every four years. In 2023 it began on June 19th and will end on July 1st. All in all, 236 young musicians from 23 countries took part in the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition: Russia, Italy, USA, Serbia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Japan, China, France, Great Britain, etc.
