World Youth Festival to Attract Over a Thousand Volunteers from Central Federal District

All the World Youth Festival Volunteer Recruitment and Training Centers have started their work in the Central Federal District. The last one to open was Synergy Moscow Financial and Industrial University. The university will recruit and train 220 volunteers from Moscow and the Moscow, Lipetsk, and Belgorod Regions for the WYF 2024. The opening ceremony was attended by Roman Sultanov, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy at Synergy University, and Sergei Doronin, Head of the Synergy.Dobro Volunteer Center.

"The World Youth Festival is a major event that will unite young people from all over the world. We are grateful to the Festival Directorate for the opportunity to contribute to the organization of such a significant event. This is not the first time we have partnered with major international events. For example, Synergy trained volunteers for the Sochi Olympics and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. I am confident that we will once again show one of the best results in the country," said Roman Sultanov, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy.

There is a total of four Centers operating in the Central Federal District at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Synergy University, the Mosvolonter Resource Center and the Palace of Youth of the Yaroslavl Region. They will recruit and train 1,075 volunteers from 18 Russian regions.

Synergy University has been training volunteers since 1999. During this time, the Synergy.Dobro Volunteer Center has implemented more than 650 volunteer projects and 23,000 students have participated in its activities. The university is one of the five Moscow universities with the most volunteers. In 2022, it topped the performance ranking of the Association of Volunteer Centers.

Overview:

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024, according to the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory on March 1-7, 2024. The regional program of the World Youth Festival will take place on March 10-17, 2024. The participants will visit 30 cities of Russia.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event. Registration is open until December 1 at fest2024.com.

5,000 volunteers from all regions of Russia, including about 250 residents of the LPR, DPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions will be involved in the organization and delivery of the Festival. Registration of volunteers is open on the ДОБРО.РФ platform until December 1, 2023.

The World Youth Festival is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and operated by the World Youth Festival Directorate.
