Dmitry Artyukhov: “The Region for the Young program allows you to create youth infrastructure in all regions of the country”

At the World Youth Festival on March 5, the head of the State Council of the Russian Federation commission on youth policy, the head of the working group of the WFM-2024 organizing committee on regional interaction, the governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area Dmitry Artyukhov spoke with journalists on the topic of the Festival, youth policy, implementation of priority tasks in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and cooperation with other regions of the Russian Federation.

More than a year ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin set the task of developing a strategy for the development of youth policy. Dmitry Artyukhov shared the main tasks facing today and spoke about the work that has already been done in this direction. 

“The State Council, which we held at the end of 2022, had a great systemic effect and today it is clear that many decisions are the result of decisions supported by the President in December 2022. The “Region for the Young” program today makes it possible to create youth infrastructure in all regions of the country. And holding the Youth Festival as an idea was born at that State Council,” said Dmitry Artyukhov.

He added that the most important achievement of this year is the adoption of the youth development strategy until 2030, which aggregates all new approaches to working with youth. 

Yamal launched a pilot excursion project for children from the DPR “My Russia”. More than 500 teenagers went on a trip to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod in 2023.  The project is planned to continue this year.  

“This is one of our successful and correct projects to work in new regions. Young people are getting acquainted with key capitals, many of them are still very young. Just the other day we decided to continue the project - five thousand children from the sponsored Volnovakha will visit these three cities. The program is designed for 12 days, the children will see all the sights and, what is important, they will see places where they can continue their education  A visit to the university and key employers is a must in the program,”  noted Dmitry Artyukhov.

For the first time, Yamal topped the ranking of the implementation of state youth policy. Dmitry Artyukhov noted that at the Rosmolodezh site, Yamal cooperates with all regions. 

“We have a very friendly family in Russian youth politics, a constant exchange of experience. And here the Rosmolodezh team, of course, did a tremendous job. Because the industry is developing very systematically and each region has its own excellent developments. And the integration of all these best practices takes place in the format of the work of Rosmolodezh. We take all the best into our work,”, added Dmitry Artyukhov.

In addition, he gave the highest assessment to the holding of the World Youth Festival from the point of view of the implementation of youth policy in the Russian Federation.

The World Youth Festival is taking place at the Sirius Federal Territory from March 1 to 7, 2024, as per the decree issued by Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed at fostering international youth cooperation.

The Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) is the organizer of the World Youth Festival, with the Directorate of the World Youth Festival serving as the operator for WYF-2024.
