Denys Manturov at the Znanie.Pervye marathon. The first: "Equal access to technologies around the world is the task of future generations"

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov addressed the participants of the Znanie.Pervye educational marathon, which takes place from March 2 to 6 during the World Youth Festival in "Sirius". The lecture took place on the third day of the marathon in the Yamal Pavilion and was included in the program of the track "A world of opportunity for everyone". Denys Manturov introduced young people to the technologies that are the basis of Russia's sovereignty and answered the children's questions. In general, this thematic track reveals such topics as dignity and justice, education, transfer of knowledge and experience.

What is technological sovereignty and what contribution do engineers, designers and programmers make to the independence of the state - these questions were answered by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation during his lecture. Denis Manturov emphasized that in our eyes the division of states into the countries of the first, second and third world is a thing of the past, and the task of future generations is equal access to technology for all.

"Russian industry in the 20th century went through a radical transformation. We have moved from a planned system to a stable market economy. As an independent state, Russia tried to fit into the peace system, but the Western countries were not ready for partnership as equals. And we are grateful to them for this, because in the end Russia stood on the rails of technological sovereignty", — explained Denis Manturov.

The lecturer spoke in detail about the foundations of the country's industrial sovereignty, which, first of all, include a rich resource base, technological facilities in the most promising areas and, of course, talented engineers and designers. Also, the speaker analyzed in detail the myths associated with the isolation of Russia in the geopolitical space.

"The volume of trade with the countries of the Big Seven actually decreased by 2.5 times, and with the USA — by 3 times. But look at other figures: trade with China increased by 60%, trade with the BRICS countries increased by almost half. There was a lot of talk about the collapse of industrial exports, but in fact we simply rebuilt the logistics chain with an emphasis on Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Even if you take such a painful topic as the withdrawal of Western companies from the Russian market, only 20% of the most politically engaged left. I do not rule out that in the future they will want to return. We, of course, will not interfere, but the place may already be occupied by our manufacturers or more far-sighted competitors", — commented Denis Manturov.

The Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation emphasized that Russia is rapidly developing almost all areas of industry: metallurgy, chemistry, agriculture, the production of communication equipment, processors, and robotics. Daria, a marathon participant from the Moscow region, asked a question about the prospects of the domestic auto industry.

"Over the past year and a half, the Russian automobile industry has received a powerful impetus to development. For example, AvtoVAZ produced 400,000 cars in 2023. This year, production will increase to 500,000. We will also actively cooperate with automobile companies from China, provided that production is localized in Russia",— answered Denis Manturov.

Alejandro from Venezuela asked the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation about the prospects for cooperation between the two countries on the world stage.

"Today, Venezuela and Russia closely cooperate in the field of oil production, but I do not rule out that some new points of contact will appear in the future. There are good prospects for using the "Mir" card for ordinary citizens and digital payment systems for business settlements in Venezuela. Such a solution can become an excellent alternative to the dollar and the euro and will protect business from the demands of the West, which will slow down industrial development", - explainedDenis Manturov.

The meeting of Denis Manturov with the participants of the Znanie.Pervye marathon took place on the third day of the marathon. Also on March 4, the speakers of the thematic track "A world of opportunity for everyone" were: Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, rector of the MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Anatoly Torkunov, academician of RAO, director of the Institute of Cognitive Studies, professor of St. Petersburg State University, doctor of biological and philological sciences Tatiana Chernygovskaya, film director Emir Kusturitsa (Serbia), three-time winner of the Olympic Games, Hero of the Russian Federation Alexander Karelin, Olympic champion in figure skating, two-time world champion, three-time European champion Roman Kostomarov, world champion in rapid chess and blitz Sergey Karyakin and others.

The Russian Society "Knowledge" is the general partner of the educational program of the World Youth Festival, and the educational marathon Knowledge.First has become one of the main events of the educational program. The Multimedia exhibition of the national photo contest Znanie.Rossiya is also open, which introduces the main achievements of the country in the 21st century and immerses you in their atmosphere with the help of augmented reality technology.

The World Youth Festival shall become a platform for open dialog between young people from Russia and other countries. After the completion of the events on the Sirius, Russian "Knowledge" Society will continue the educational line of the World Youth Festival from March 10 to 17 within the framework of the regional program WYF 2024, which will cover all federal districts of our country.
