11 September 2023, 10:00

On September 11, the World Youth Festival was presented as part of the Territory of Innovations program block of the Eastern Economic Forum 2023. According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the World Youth Festival is held to develop international cooperation and will become a platform for the development of relations, including between Russia and the states of the Asia-Pacific Region.

During the presentation, the forum participants got acquainted with the concept of the Festival program, the opportunities it will offer to young people, its main meanings and values. The organizers are confident that many of these will be close to the hearts of young people from the Asia-Pacific Region. These include the creation of a multi-polar world where everyone can be themselves, live and develop as they wish, without imposing their values on others and without being forced to do so; the responsibility for the common future of humanity, the values of constructive dialogue, teamwork, and mutual help. The participants of the Eastern Economic Forum were also presented with the symbols of the World Youth Festival — the mascot, the theme song and the logo reflecting the core values of the WYF 2024.

«Young people from the Asia-Pacific Region are showing a keen interest in the World Youth Festival. Representatives of 24 APAC countries have applied to participate. Festival National Preparatory Committees have already been established in some of these states. These committees will further attract and select participants. This means that there is a public demand for the international youth dialog in Asian countries. That is why our country offers a platform for building connections between young leaders from all over the world. The World Youth Festival will allow the exchange of best practices between participants from different countries and will become an impetus for the development of the international youth movement aimed at building a common future and a just multi-polar world», said Ksenia Razuvaeva, Head of Rosmolodezh.

As of today, applications have been received from Australia, the Republic of Fiji, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brunei, East Timor, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Japan.
