Artists from Different Countries to Execute the World Youth Festival Mural

Next March, the World Youth Festival will host the New Forms International Street Art Festival. WYF 2024 participants and guests will get to see major art projects come to life.

More than 25 artists will participate in the street art festival. Together, they will execute about 20 murals on the facades of residential buildings and 19 murals on bridge abutments and walls along roads from Sochi Airport. All works will cover more than 4,000 square meters and will be united by one theme: When We Are Together. The authors will visualize the cultural traditions and national history of their countries and peoples of Russia.

"The World Youth Festival will bring together many talented people from different countries. Participants in the street art festival will showcase their works, creating a unique creative atmosphere. I am sure that the artists at the Festival will leave their mark in the history of art. I invite everyone to get to know their ideas and works better," said Natalia Dulmachenko, Director General of the New Forms Foundation for the Support and Development of Modern Art.

The New Forms International Street Art Festival will be attended by artists from all over the world, including Argentine graffiti artist Martin Ron, Mexican artist Farid Rueda, Serbian street artist Dejan Ivanović, known as Wuper Kec, and French street artist Kalouf, as well as Russian muralists Rustam Kubik (QBic) from Kazan, Aleksandr Demkin from Ryazan, Philipp (FI2K) from St. Petersburg and many others.

Art objects will decorate the World Youth City to be created in the Sirius Federal Territory and will remain part of the urban environment, forever capturing the main meanings and values of the WYF 2024.

It is a great honor for me to share my works and communicate with fellow artists and the public who are as passionate about creativity as I am," said Italian street artist Jorit.

 

Overview:

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024 according to the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory early next year.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event.

5,000 volunteers from all regions of Russia, including 228 residents of the LPR, DPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions will be involved in the organization and delivery of the Festival.

The World Youth Festival is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and operated by the World Youth Festival Directorate.
