160 Trainers from All over Russia to Train World Youth Festival Volunteers

The trainers of the World Youth Festival volunteer corps will train volunteers from all regions of Russia until the end of January 2024. A total of 160 people will be involved in the training of volunteers.

The training began in Pyatigorsk with a seminar for trainers from the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts, held at the Mashuk Knowledge Center as part of the District Volunteer Forum from September 13 to 16. The lecturers were experts in organizing volunteer work at major international and national events. They shared their knowledge on the theory and practice of training volunteers for major international events, interactive training techniques and much more.

«From December 2023 to February 2024, trainers will have to train 5, 000 volunteers from all over Russia. These volunteers will make the World Youth Festival bright and comfortable for the participants. That is why we are preparing the trainers of the WYF 2024 volunteer corps so thoroughly. The District Volunteer Forum in Pyatigorsk became the first training platform for specialists from the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts. Specialized training will soon be provided in other federal districts. In the near future, training seminars will be held in the Khabarovsk Territory and the Murmansk Region», said Larisa Sulima, Deputy Director General for Regional Cooperation of the World Youth Festival Directorate.

The training of the WYF 2024 volunteer corps trainers will continue in September and October. Training seminars will be held in each federal district as part of the District Volunteer Forums. During the same period, recruiters will be trained to select volunteers for the World Youth Festival.

Anyone over the age of 18 can become a WYF 2024 volunteer. Young people over the age of 16 will have the opportunity to work as City Volunteers, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere during the Festival in Moscow and Sochi. Applicants must be highly motivated, sociable, able to cope with stress, speak English and other foreign languages, have teamwork skills and previous volunteering experience.

Overview:

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024, according to the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory on March 1-7, 2024. The regional program of the World Youth Festival will take place on March 10-17, 2024. The participants will visit 30 cities of Russia.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event. 5,000 volunteers from all regions of Russia, including about 250 residents of the LPR, DPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions will be involved in the organization and delivery of the Festival. Registration of volunteers is open on the ДОБРО.РФ platform until December 1, 2023.
