An educational seminar for World Youth Festival Volunteer Corps team leaders is being held at Sirius University on December 14–17.

The training is attended by 150 team leaders from the WYF 2024 Volunteer Recruitment and Training Centers. They will coordinate the work of 5,000 volunteers from all functional areas at the Festival venues.

On the first day of the educational seminar, Larisa Sulima, Deputy Director General for Regional Cooperation, addressed the team of team leaders. She spoke about the World Youth Festival, its program, and the work of the Volunteer Corps.

"We have brought together a team of professionals from 49 Russian regions in Sirius. Each of them has a wealth of experience in volunteering and organizational activities, as well as in managing people. In 4 days, we must rally a team that is ready to solve professional management tasks, highly motivated and able to inspire and clearly coordinate the Volunteer Corps during the operational period of the Festival. I am sure we can do it together," Larisa Sulima said.

The Deputy Director General for Regional Cooperation also noted that the purpose of the seminar is to build a team, establish direct communication with the managers of the functional areas, familiarize with the infrastructure and program of the Festival and the organizational structure of the Volunteer Corps management, and test the basic services for WYF 2024 volunteers.

During the educational seminar, team leaders will learn the key components of leadership, the role of coordinators in the Volunteer Corps, and the specifics of working in crisis situations. A tour of the Olympic Park and the Festival venues will be a mandatory part of the training.

Team leaders are trained by specialists who have extensive experience in working with volunteer organizations for major international and national events.
