Science and technology have become one of the key drivers of economic development in the modern world. Every state strives to improve its innovative potential in order to strengthen its position in the world, improve the quality of life of its population, increase productivity and build economic power. However, modern technologies also pose threats: information leakage, weakening state sovereignty in certain areas, human substitution in critical sectors.


Specialists face an important task. They have to find optimal ways of technological development that will ensure the benefits of innovation and minimize potential risks. During the session, Rasigan Maharajh, Director General of the Institute for Economic Research on Innovation, Tshwane University of Technology, will speak about the opportunities and challenges of technological progress in the international context.
