Let's Get Married at the WYF 1.0 (6+)

Description of the event

The National Kalmyk Wedding is an exciting immersion into the culture and traditions of the Kalmyk people.

Legend has it that the ancient Kalmyks, a people with wise eyes and kind hearts, organized a wedding that became a symbol of their unity with nature and divine power. On this day the sky over the steppe shone with bright stars, and the wind whispered the secrets of the reed branches.

The bride and groom, decorated with folk patterns, met under an ancient oak tree, like a guardian of a sacred union. The elders sang wise songs, calling upon the gods to bless this union, and the shamans performed dances around the fire, invoking the spirits of the ancestors.
