Description of the event

Global trends in the prevalence, toxicity and risk that harmful algal blooms pose to natural systems, human health and coastal economies are poorly contained, but are widely believed to be increasing due to climate change and nutrient pollution. 

At the expert session, you can listen to experts answer the questions: what causes massive algae blooming? Are there systems to prevent the spread of red algae in today's world?
